I think training gets overlooked with sales people, particularly at early stage companies. You can train your folks or do regular training that’s very efficient. I like to focus on product knowledge, on the ability to present, so lots of role playing, and lots of running through demo’s and slide decks and really getting the story down and sharing because you’ll learn from your sales guys, they’ll learn from each other. I like them to feel that they’re expanding and broadening their skills as they work with me.

I’ll encourage workshops on negotiations, on contracts, things that will help them be better sales people. I think if you do that with your sales guys, you’ll get a lot more out of them.
